“I bought my wife a Josh Naylor shirt”; “This has given me life”

After joining the Seattle Mariners via a trade midway through the 2025 season, infielder Josh Naylor wasted no time establishing himself as a fan favorite at T-Mobile Park.

In the 54 regular season games he played with the Mariners since joining, Naylor batted .299 with 9 home runs and 33 RBI, while being as reliable as ever in defensive situations. The 28-year-old's strong performances played a big role in helping his team win its division, the AL West, for the first time since 2001 and reach the ALCS in October.

When he entered free agency after the season ended, fans implored the organization to re-sign the outfielder, and they got their wish on Monday, as Naylor agreed to a five-year, $92.5 million deal.

In a clip the Mariners uploaded to X, Josh Naylor sent a heartfelt message to fans shortly after signing his extension.

“Mariners fans, I'm really excited to be a part of this group now, for several years. I can't wait to go out there every night and give it my all. I can't wait to win baseball in front of you and do great things with these guys.”

“You guys are amazing, I love you and I know the whole team loves you. So, keep supporting us continuously, keep bringing energy to the field and we'll do our part.” Josh Naylor said
