The production of I love LA Season 1 began in March 2024. The series was created and written by Rachel Sennott, with Emma Barrie, Aida Rodgers, Max Silvestri and Lorene Scafaria serving as executive producers. Directors are Sennott, Scafaria, Bill Benz and Kevin Bray.

The series was commissioned as a pilot in March 2024 and greenlit in September 2024, beginning production. Following character and plot changes, Josh Hutcherson replaced Miles Robbins in May 2025.
