A WWE Hall of Famer recently stated that he was on board with AJ Styles' plan to retire from in-ring competition next year. The former TNA star wrestled John Cena at WWE Crown Jewel 2025 this Saturday night, but fell short in the match.
Speaking for himself Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T commented on Styles' decision to retire next year. He stated that it was time for Styles to step away from the ring and praised him for having a long career.
“Okay, you know what? It's time to wrap it up. It is. It's time. It's been this long, props. It's time to wrap it up, man, and live off the fruits of your labor. Seriously, he doesn't have to do anything ever again,” Booker T said.
The legend also suggested that Styles would have a job in the wrestling business once he retires.
“So when he retires, he'll still have a job doing something in this business, I imagine, just because he's one of those great minds that this business can definitely use,” he added. (H/T: Wrestling news)

AJ Styles has failed to capture Dominik Mysterio's Intercontinental Championship twice in recent months. He lost to Dirty Dom at WWE SummerSlam 2025 and was then defeated in their rematch on the September 1 edition of RAW.
Wrestling veteran Vince Russo recently suggested that AJ Styles was tired of “fighting the system” in WWE.
Speaking at Sportskeeda Wrestling's Writing with Russo show, the legend noted that AJ Styles was a proud man, but he may have lost the will to take the company back. He claimed the 48-year-old could be get a salary as his ring career comes to an end.
“Yeah, I mean, AJ is a really, really proud guy and a really hard worker. But you know, it just gets to the point, like you get to the point where you just, you get tired of fighting the system. You just do. It gets to a point where it doesn't make sense. So it's okay, bro, whatever. You are,” Russo said.
It will be interesting to see what WWE has planned for AJ Styles after his loss to John Cena at Crown Jewel.
