Nascar icon and Hendrick Motorsports Vice President Jeff Gordon He offered his condolences to the Public Relations representative of a long time and the HMS communications director, Jon Edwards, who died on April 10. Edwards was essential for managing Gordon's public image and communications.
Edwards has worked closely with Gordon since the early 2000's, acting as a link between the latter and the media, ensuring that their priorities were fulfilled. Prior to his passage, Edwards went to work with HMS Ace and 2021 Cup Series Champion Kyle Larson.
Gordon tweeted a eulogy to his “dear friend” who had always been there for him, through his bad times and good times during his term with the Vice President of Hendrick Motorsports. Wrote:
“ I am devastated by the loss of my dear friend, Jon. For almost three decades, we were next to all ups and downs, every celebration and all the challenges. It was one of the most loyal, hard -working and selfless people I have ever known forever, and I will be grateful for their unmistakable impact on my life and career. My heart is with the family of Jon and everyone who loved him.
During his 24 -hour career with HMS, Jeff Gordon won the Nascar Cup Championship in 1995, 1997, 1998 and 2001. Gordon also became the youngest champion of the modern age after winning the Cup series at 24 in 1995.

Jeff Gordon recently discussed the Hendrick Motorsports approach to the absence of Kyle Larson from the car #5 while trying the “Double” (directing Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 for the second consecutive year.
Gordon said that finding a practice driver closer to Larson's size is a priority this year, such as last year's choice, Kevin Harvickhad adaptation problems.
“ The last I heard is that we will probably have a JRM driver (Jr. Motorsports) and someone in his seat was fitted. Last year, it was very fantastic that Kevin (Harvick) came into the car. It was fun, it was fun for the team and everyone, but it was a lot of work, '' said Jeff Gordon (through Steven Taranto in X).
He also revealed that JR Motorsports (JRM) driver will probably practice in the Larson Cup Cup car to avoid adaptation problems with Harvick. In addition, Tony Kanaan, the winner of Indianapolis 500 in 2013, will serve as a Backup pilot of Larson next to the Indycar.
