Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga may be out for a while after suffering a right leg injury in Saturday's 121-113 win over the Memphis Grizzlies.
“It's a sprained ankle,” head coach Steve Kerr said he told reporters after the game. “We will have more information tomorrow. This is not everyday. It was very difficult. So we will report tomorrow when we feel better.”
Kuminga left the Chase Center with a cane.

The injury interrupted another strong season from the 22-year-old. Through 32 games, he is adding 16.8 points and 5.0 rebounds while shooting 34.5 percent from beyond the arc.
Kuminga appeared to be regaining his footing last month. He averaged 21.0 points and 6.3 boards per contest in a December 13 game.
The injury did not go away well at one point.
The NBA trade deadline is a month away on Feb. 6. Having already acquired former guard Dennis Schröder, the Warriors may look active as they are eighth in the Western Conference and only 2.5 games ahead of the Sacramento Kings and Phoenix Suns in 11th and 12th respectively.

Now, Dunleavy and the front office may be left to try again at the end of the series while missing a big role in Kuminga.

Depth has been an asset to Golden State all year and now is when that will be more important than ever. Depending on when he's out, Kuminga's injury could force Dunleavy's hand, making it necessary to add depth and strengthen the frontcourt.
