Kyle Larson He shared his choice for which the Indycar series pilot would like to see the Nascar Cup Series in Phoenix Raceway next year. He chose Josef Newgarden, noting that Team Penske usually runs on the track based on Arizona.
For the uninitiated, the two north -American racing series will hold a double header in Phoenix in March 2026. The track, which is often served as the end of the season, has long been Team PenskeHighlighted by three runs in a row from the championship.
Josef Newgarden is currently leading Roger Penske to the Indycar series, where he has captured two championships (2017 and 2019). It also holds close ties to the list of Team Penske's Nascar, even attending Ryan Blaney's wedding in Colorado Last year.
In an interview with Speedfreaks Before throwing the first release for Arizona Diamondbacks, Larson, which drives the number 5 of Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet, said:
“Judging by the untouchable cars of Penske in this track style, would be the perfect place for Josef Newgarden to debut in a glass car. He would probably leave there and ran the first five easily, and I will not even exaggerate that thing.”
“I don't think Roger would leave him, but I would like him to show his talent … Indycar's talents so well in that weekend,” he added.
Kyle Larson himself is not foreign to crossing attempts after he has taken Double twice. This is directing Indianapolis 500 and Coca-Cola 600 of the Nascar on the same day the Day Memorial weekend. His most prominent effort took place with a fifth initial place in Indy 500, but despite the strong qualified career, he does not yet have to break the Top-10 at the event.
Kyle Larson closed the rumors about try Double By 2026. The California native said he will not work with the unfortunate head at any time, pointing to the logistical obstacles. But he left the door open to a future return to Indy 500 stage.
The Nascar Cup Champion Champion 2021 declared (via Lead Ax):
“I feel like I learned that I would not double again. They ask me all the time, so no. I mean. It's like it was logistically too hard.”
“I do not encourage you to run the Indy 500. But I hope someday I can run it again, but I have no desire to make twice again.”

Kyle Larson marked 18th place in his Indycar series and won the Indy 500 Rookie of the Year Award. The following year, however, his effort was disappointed with an accident around 91, which left him with a DNF. To get worse, his day became even tougher, as he did not finish Coca-Cola 600 of the Nascar later that night.
As for his Nascar 2025 season, he has been a strong race, recording three wins, 11 Top-5 and 18 Top-10s. Enter the race in Charlotte Roval this weekend with a 54 -point pillow above the Playoff line.
