The Crimson Tide Guard, Labaron Philon, declared the NBA project in 2025, but then retired to continue the program for its largest year. The Alabama Basketball of 2023 had an impressive season of debut for Crimson Tide.
The 6-feet-4 guard appeared on Wednesday in an interview published by Tide Hoops History in X (before Twitter). In the interview, he was asked who he was expecting to play.
“Probably all of my teammates who moved to other dry schools,” Philon said. “It will be a lot of fun. We still talk to each other to today. But these guys from different schools will surely try to get our heads. They are not friends once we pass on the track.”
These players include Dreation Reid, which moved to the Oklahoma sooners; Naas Cunningham, who went to the Unlv rebels; Jarin Stevenson, who will play at the North Carolina Tar Heels; and Mouhamed Dioubate, who will adapt to Kentucky Wildcats next season.
While Stevenson and Cunningham remain in the dry, Philon will face Reid and Dioubate when Alabama closes the horns with Oklahoma and Kentucky.
Last season, Labaron Philon promised 10.6 points in 45.2% shot, including 31.5% behind the bow. He also took 3.3 rebounds, reached 3.8 assists, recorded 0.3 blocks and stole the ball 1.4 times in 24.7 minutes per game in 29 games.
One of his best games won the 99-70 victory against Kentucky on March 15, when he recorded 21 points, three rebounds, four assists, a blog and three robberies. He shot the 8-for-14, including 1 by 4 from behind the 3-point line and turned 4 out of 6 of his free releases in 26 minutes.
Returning to its second season, Labraon Philon will have many new teammates. Alabama was eliminated in the Eight Eight NCAA Tournament last year, and now coach Nate Oats made some significant additions to his list.
Since the 2025 class, three four -star recruits have been added, including power in the London striker Jemison, the Davion Hannah Combined Guard, the little striker Amari Allen and a three -star center, Collins Onyejiaka.
In the transfer portal, the oats acquired Taylor Bowen Bol from Florida State Seminoles, Jalil Bethea, by Miami Hurricanes, Noah Williamson by Bucknell Bison and Keitenn Bristow, from the Texans of the State of Tarleton.
