Ole Miss coach Lane Kiffin has been in the spotlight amid speculation about his future at the school. After the Rebels' 38-19 win over Mississippi State on Friday, Kiffin said he will call former Alabama coach Nick Saban and Las Vegas Raiders coach Pete Carroll for advice before making a decision amid a $90 million offer from the LSU Tigers.
At his press conference, an emotional Kiffin paid tribute to his late father, Monte, and said he would make phone calls to Carroll and Saban.
Thanks for sending!
“My two calls are going to be the closest to that advice to what my dad would say on these things, and they're going to be Coach (Pete) Carroll and Coach (Nick) Saban.” Kiffin said. “Kind of wish my dad was here.”

Kiffin worked with Saban at Alabama from 2014 to 2016. Kiffin was the Tide's offensive coordinator when they won the national title in the 2015 season.
Kiffin also worked at USC from 2001 to 2006, when Carroll was the head coach. He was part of the Trojans team that won two national titles.
Kiffin's father, Monte, died in July 2024 at the age of 84.

On Friday, Lane Kiffin became the first Ole Miss coach to achieve 11 wins in a season. The No. 7 Rebels (11-1, 7-1 SEC) have also qualified for the College Football Playoff for the first time.
While Ole Miss appears to have made the playoffs, there is uncertainty as to whether Kiffin will coach the team in its first CFP appearance.
Kiffin will reportedly decide on his future later Saturday. There have been reports suggesting he could coach at LSU next season.
