The New York Liberty will contact Atlanta's dream on Sunday in a party clash between the first two teams of the Eastern Conference. Currently, freedom leads the classification with a record of 11-4, while the dream sits at about 10-6.
Directing -this tent party, freedom will be again without two key collaborators, Jonquel Jones and Leonie Fiebich. Jones remains on the sidelines with a right ankle injury, while Fiebich continues to fulfill his commitments abroad. Both have lost the team's recent matches and their absence has significantly affected New York's performance.
Despite the mishaps, coach Sandy Brondello refuses to use his absence as an excuse. Following the loss of Friday against Phoenix Mercury, Brondello handed a forceful message, challenging the remaining list to increase and respond to the adversity that the team is currently facing.
“Many teams have lost Eurobasket players,” said Brondello. “Competing is something there: Are you willing to do it or not? These are early days … were a better team than we do, but how do we respond?”
Liberty ended with the season with an impressive nine -game winning streak but the absence of Jonquel Jones And Leonie Fiebich has interrupted his pace. With the two key headlines, the team has struggled to support their early dominance, losing four of their last six games as they work to navigate this difficult section.
