“Leave his little jealousy and enemies”

Michael Jordan's agent David Falk issued a clear message to WNBA for not accepting Caitlin Clark's Impact on the League in June 2024. During an appearance on Kevin Sheehan's program, Falk talked about Clark and the controversies surrounding him.

One of the key issues he addressed was that Clark became a credit in terms of his contribution to the growth of the WNBA since his arrival. Falk noted why Clark is “hated” for various reasons, from money to race and popularity.

Falk also suggested what he would do as WNBA commissioner to solve this problem that exceeds the league.

“I would have an entire league meeting and say to women:” I know some do not like Caitlin Clark “because it draws too much attention … for preference reasons … and maybe it's not as good as Diana Taraisi, or, you know, Candace Parker or some of the elders who have arrived before,” said Falk.

“But when Caitlin Clark is on the ground playing the mystics and we move from a 5,000 -seater sand to a 20,000 -place scenario, you will all make a lot of money. So put your jealousy and enemies separately and understand from a business point of view, this is a great thing for the league.”

The WNBA audience had suffered brutal blows over the last decade, but things changed after Clark was written. In 2024 it was a record year, as the League revealed that it was the most observed WNBA season in Espn, a single game attendance record and the highest total attendance in 22 years.

The league also broke digital consumption records and goods sales. The Clark fever established the visualization records on all WNBA television partners, including ESPN, ESPN2, CBS, ABC, ion and NBA TV. Except for the NBA TV at 678,000 spectators, other dissemination partners registered more than a million views on fever games against the sky (x3), the storm, the sun and the donkeys.

David Falk compared Caitlin Clark's hatred with Michael Jordan's

David Falk once compared Caitlin Clark's situation with that of Michael Jordan when the NBA legend first entered the men's league. According to Falk, Jordan was not welcomed by veterans due to “jealousy”. He thinks Clark has faced the same problem.

“There is a huge jealousy among WNBA women towards Caitlin Clark for several reasons,” Falk said on Kevin Sheehan's program.

“One is because he earns so much money and has not been shown (quote)”, which is exactly what happened to a young man named Michael Jordan in 1985 in the All-Star game when Isiah (Thomas) and Magic Deervin frozen him because they were jealous of his own shoe. “

Clark is only a year old in his WNBA career, but he has broken records on the court and out. He lacks experience, but he has the talent and potential for walking with the most established players in the league.

However, not everyone sees things like this. It was shown when Clark was voted ninth by the players of the league between All-Stars as the best guard of the WNBA. It was the first vote of Fan and the third among the media.
