Despite the Los Angeles Lakers' 119-115 loss to the Houston Rockets on Sunday night, LeBron James and Anthony Davis stunned fans with a combined 51-point performance on the road.

The loss dropped the Lakers to 20-15, while the Rockets improved to 23-12, fueled by dominant scoring from Jalen Green, who scored 33 points.

James nearly secured a triple-double, finishing with 21 points, 13 rebounds and nine assists, shooting 4-of-7 from long range. Davis shone with 30 points, 13 rebounds and five blocks.

For the Rockets, Green added six rebounds and four assists to go with his 33 points, while Amen Thompson contributed 23 points, 16 rebounds and three assists. Dillon Brooks struggled, finishing with just five points, five rebounds and three assists while shooting 2-of-8 from the field.

Austin Reaves opened the scoring for the Lakers with a floater and later hit a 24-foot 3-pointer midway through the first quarter. He finished the night with 21 points.

The Lakers trailed 67-49 at halftime after allowing the Rockets to explode for 31 points in the second quarter.

James took over in the third quarter, scoring 14 of his 21 points as the Lakers came back with a 40-24 run to close the gap.

The Lakers pulled within two points on James with eight seconds left, but their comeback attempt fell short as the Rockets closed the game at the free throw line in the final moments.

On Tuesday, the Lakers will aim for redemption as they take on the Dallas Mavericks, who are determined to end their four-game losing streak.
