Leylah Fernandez will assume Hannah Klugman in the first round of the Wimbledon championships.
Fernández has not yet had a significant impact on the tour. After a quarter of the final in Abu Dhabi, he reached the third round in Miami and Rome. He also reached the quarterfinals of the Nottingham Open, but lost to Dayana Yastremska in straight sets.
The Canadian will enter Wimbledon after a second departure to Bad Homburg. He started his campaign with a powerful victory against Tatjana Maria, but lost to Jasmine Paolini in the next round. The Italian exhibited it in straight sets, 7-6 (8), 7-6 (6).
In the meantime, Hannah Klugman is one of the most exciting young people on the tour. It reached the quarterfinals in Tampa and the semifinals of Terrassa (ITF events) in recent months. He also participated in the Nottingham Open, but lost to Yulia Putintsva in the first round.
The British will enter Nottingham after a first -round exit to Eastbourne. He assumed Suzan Lamens in the first round and lost to the Dutch woman in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2. The 16 -year -old man plays his first main appearance in Wimbledon this year.
Head to head between the duo is blocked at 0-0.
All odds come from BetMGM.
Fernández has taken the rhythm of the grass after a difficult season in the clay. Paolini almost humiliated to Eastbourne and will be eager to generate impetus in London. Canadian has an energetic game and likes to express himself on the court.
On the other hand, Klugman is out of 550 players in the world. He made his debut on WTA in Nottingham and will make his first appearance in Wimbledon. The young man, 16, will expect to present a severe challenge in the first round and learn during his experience.
There is no points to guess that Fernández will be one of the clear favorites to win. Canadian should be able to stamp his authority on Monday and start the championship with a victory.
Pick: Fernández will win in straight sets.
