Inter Miami are interested in signing captain Lionel Messi’s former Argentine team-mate Marcos Rojo. The 35-year-old central plays his job with the Racing Club of Argentina.
Rojo, who has been with his current team since arriving from Boca Juniors in October on a free transfer, is out of contract at the end of the season. He has made eight appearances in three different competitions for Racng but is yet to contribute a goal.

Rojo, capped 61 times by the Albiceleste, made his last competitive start in a 4-3 round of 16 defeat to eventual champions France at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia. according to Sports Athlon (via TNT Sports), the veteran Manchester United center back is back on the radar of Between Miame who was also interested in his services in 2023 and now want him before the 2026 MLS season starts.
Rojo and Messi were at the FIFA Club World Cup earlier this year, albeit for different teams, with the former not appearing in any of his then Boca Juniors’ three group games.
Together, Rojo and Messi have played 45 games together for Argentina (both players were on the pitch at the same time), registering two goals together, with each player assisting the other once. Both goal contributions came in victories in competitive outings for the Albiceleste.

More than four years since he last played for Barcelona, attacking from Inter Miami Lionel Messi will face his old club prodigy Lamine Yamal for the first time when the Albiceleste take on reigning European champions Spain in the Finalissima.
The match will take place at Qatar’s Lusail Stadium on March 27 next year, marking the first meeting between the two players. The Albiceleste are the reigning champions, having beaten Italy 3-0 three years ago.
It is relevant to note that Yamal now wears Messi’s iconic number 10 shirt a Barça. The Argentine is indisputably one of the best ever to play for Barcelona, scoring almost 700 goals and winning multiple major titles in an illustrious period between 2004 and 2021.
