Last month, Min Woo Lee had a pretty decent performance at the Baycurrent Classic. At Yokohama Golf Club, the PGA Tour pro posted a four-round total of 11 under par to finish tied for 10th in the leaderboard.
After that, the Perth pro has returned home to get up for the upcoming Australian PGA Championship at Royal Queensland and the Australian Open at Royal Melbourne. Amid a busy schedule, Lee has been bombarded with reports about his future in professional golf. Min Woo Lee could reportedly move to LIV Golf, which now features an extended 72-hole format for the 2026 season.
However, Lee quickly shut down all the rumors in a recent interview session with reporters. Dr. Chipinski made it very clear that he does not want to change tours at this time. In his statement, Min Woo Lee explained that he is looking forward to the next season of the Tour.
While Lee denied reports of his speculated move to the PIF-backed Saudi golf league, it created a stir among fans on social media. Shortly after sharing this post on X, users started sharing their thoughts on the Australian golfer in the comments. A part of them ended up shadowing tough.
“LIV doesn't need this idiot,” an X user discussed below.
“He didn't get an offer, did he?”, someone else exploded a speculation
“To be fair, every player who has gone to LIV has said this exact thing in published statements 😂,” another fan. he answered.
“LIV can't find a real captain for the Iron Heads,” a fan he commented regarding the rumors about Min Woo Lee.
“The rumors started by LIV bots and shills. I was never leaving!”, someone else he wrote below the X post.
Apart from shutting down reports about his turn, Lee also spoke about one of his fellow Australian pros, one joining the split tour in 2022.
In his statement, Lee also revealed how he wants more from Cameron Smith, now this The 2026 LIV events will be played over 72 holes. Speaking at the 2022 Open Camp, Min Woo Lee called his compatriot “one of the best” golfers in the world. He said (as quoted by Sport Nation):
“Cam was one of the best players in the world before he went to LIV and I hope he can find his stride. Great golfers, in time, if there are more holes, they will probably come out on top.”
The three-time European Tour winner also stated how hopeful he is about Smith's improvement in the majors. Lee said:
“Hopefully we can see some good golf from him. We have a practice round each time at the Masters and the majors, so I hope the best for him.”
It's worth noting that Smith, who happens to be a former world No. 2, showed some impressive results this year. The three-time Australian PGA champion was the only professional to miss the weekend ticket to the four major championships in 2025.
