Earlier, the jury ruled in favor stallionawarding him a large amount of damages. However, the jury also ruled that Milagro should be treated as a “media defendant”. If so, Stallion would not receive the $15,000 awarded in the defamation suit. Sentencing is expected to come after the post-verdict filing.
Megan Thee Stallion received one a total of $75,000 in damages. The jury found Milagro Gramz liable for defamation, causing emotional distress to the rapper and promoting a fake deep Stallion video to increase his reach.
According to Rolling Stone , the jury ordered Milagro to pay the “Hot Girl Summer” rapper $15,000 in defamation, a total of $8,000 for infliction of emotional distress and a total of $50,000 for promoting a false and deep Stallion video.
In addition, the jury also ruled that Milagro must pay an additional $2,000 to Stallion as punitive damages for emotional distress and defamation.
The jury decided that the blogger “must be treated as a media defendant.” If the judge agrees with the jury's decision, the amount of defamation would be reduced from the compensation.
Milagro's lawyers said in the statement that Megan Thee Stallion had asked for “an astronomical amount of damages” to send a message to the community, but was rejected by the jury.
