Harper Murray opened up about what it means to host an NCAA regional and its home-court advantage

Nebraska volleyball player Harper Murray sat in a press conference before the 2025 NCAA regional semifinals. During the interview she made his feelings known about hosting an NCAA regional and also revealed the advantage it gives players to play on home court.

He said the team was lucky and talked about how the level of matches is getting tougher every week. He opened up even more about what his team really focused on, saying: (starting at 3:17)

“I say it every time, but we’re lucky that we’ve been able to host the last few years because I don’t think people understand how big of an advantage they have, especially in a gym like ours. So I know we’re grateful that we get to be here and every week it’s harder and harder and we understand that it’s getting closer to the national championship,” Harper Murray said each week.

She added:

“So, I say I said it last week, but just being really grateful for where we are and focusing every day on what we’re working on and what we need to improve on because if you look too far into the future, you’re probably going to get a little nervous and stressed. So really focusing on what we’re doing right now and focusing on where our feet are.”
