NFL fans boo Shedeur Sanders as Browns QB fumbles horribly in 26-8 loss to 49ers

Shedeur Sanders' first home start with the Cleveland Browns ended in a 26-8 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. The rookie quarterback threw for 149 yards and a touchdown. The loss dropped Cleveland to 3-9.

Reaction to Sanders' exit immediately reached X.

“I just threw an empty Jack Daniel's bottle in Shedeur Sanders' face. My 70” flat screen is broken and my pig wife is yelling at me saying I'm drunk. This kid should be packing orders to Popeyes not to take pictures for the brown,” one fan posted.

Shedeur Sanders connected with the narrow end Harold Fannin Jr. on a 34-yard touchdown run near the end of the second quarter, putting the ball over Fannin's outside shoulder as pressure loomed. The rookie tight end caught the pass around the 10-yard line and raced into the end zone for an 8-7 lead for the Browns after a two-point conversion.

But that momentum vanished when San Francisco hit a field goal before halftime to regain a 10-8 lead.

The second half has fallen apart. Cleveland opened with a punt, then coughed up the ball on a failed fourth-and-1 to Fannin. The turnover set up a 49ers touchdown and extended the lead to 17-8. A point off for Gage Larvadain early in the fourth quarter allowed San Francisco to take the lead again.

Sanders absorbed a crushing 10-yard sack on fourth-and-16, effectively sealing the outcome. The Browns' final possession ended with a six-yard scramble on fourth-and-26.
