The New York Jets will be without wide receiver Garrett Wilson for the rest of the season as coach Aaron Glenn announced that Wilson continues to recover from a knee injury.
Glenn said Wilson will remain on injured reserve in an announcement Friday. The star wide receiver hasn’t appeared with the team since injuring his knee in the Week 10 matchup against the Cleveland Browns in November.

“There’s no reason to bring him back this year. Who’s going to throw the ball to him next season?”
“Right move, no point in using it when the season is over and we have to close.”
“Definitely the smart game, they have absolutely nothing to play for, if he’s lucky, he’ll be changed somehow.”
“It has to be damaged goods so they can sit out the rest of the season.”
The former Offensive Rookie of the Year has struggled with injuries this season, missing two games in October with another knee problem. The Jets wide receiver has only played in seven games this season.
Garrett Wilson he did not miss a game due to injury in the first three seasons of his NFL career and accumulated 1000 yards in each of his first three seasons with the Jets. He will finish with 36 receptions for 395 yards and four touchdowns this season.
Jets coach Aaron Glenn said he was “excited” about Wilson’s offseason preparations.
“Garrett’s doing a really good job in his rehab, but what we’re going to do, just talking to the doctors, talking to him, is we’re going to keep him the rest of the season and he’ll be ready to go as the offseason program starts,” Glenn said. “And I’m excited about it.”
With the Jets 3-11 for the season, Glenn decided not to risk another injury to his wide receiver, calling Wilson a “key cog” in New York’s offense.
