And then there were eight of them.
After the Los Angeles Rams' win over the Minnesota Vikings on Monday, the NFL Divisional Round is set with eight teams remaining with Super Bowl aspirations. The Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions will enter the game after receiving byes in the Wild Card round, and the action will begin on Saturday.

NFL fans couldn't ask for a better storyline and games in the next round.
It all starts with the Chiefs' first playoff game as they try to become the first team in league history to win three straight Super Bowl titles. But the age-old question of resting against rust will take center stage given that it will be the first game for Patrick Mahomes and many other starters since their Christmas Day win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Houston Texans will also arrive with plenty of momentum and a stout defense that just shut down Justin Herbert four times in their Wild Card round win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
If that defense can hold Mahomes and Co. in chess, CJ Stroud, Joe Mixon and Nico Collins might be able to make enough plays on the other side to win.
Saturday's second game could feature plenty of points as likely Offensive Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders come to Detroit to face the top-seeded Lions.
Look for plenty of fourth down attempts and offensive fireworks, but the Lions appear to be on a mission to reach the Super Bowl after coming up short last season. They bring the league's top-scoring offense and seventh-best scoring defense in the league, meaning Daniels and Washington will have to play a perfect game to pull off the upset.
As for Sunday, it will be a superstar day.
Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson battle it out in an MVP showdown and what may be the best matchup of the entire Divisional Round. They could look at each other as MVP candidates under the playoff lights, and the winner could get a chance at Mahomes in the AFC Championship Game.

There will also be no shortage of stars on the NFC side with Saquon Barkley, Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown leading the Philadelphia Eagles against Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, Puk Nacua and the Los Angeles Rams.
The NFL schedule is at a point where the top teams and players have completely separated themselves from the pack, so there should be plenty of exciting action as they battle for a spot in the race for the Lombardi Trophy.
