ONE Friday Fights 137: “Everybody Makes Mistakes”

A Muay Thai world featherweight champion, Thailand’s Tawanchai PK Saenchai, was stunned when Liu Mengyang pulled off an upset victory over compatriot Shadow Singha Mawynn.

“Spirit Dragon” halted Shadow’s momentum by handing him a unanimous decision loss in their featherweight kickboxing battle at ONE Friday Fights 126.

Liu was struggling early on, but responded with a massive takedown in the second round that turned the tide in his favor.

The 26-year-old he also praised the Chinese nuisance artistwho also has a shock victory over former ONE interim featherweight kickboxing world champion Masaaki Noiri.

Tawanchai said during ONE Media Day Thailand:

“Liu Mengyang is very strong and durable, but I felt a little bad for Shadow, who made a slight tactical error. He carelessly switched strikes at a time that suited Liu Mengyang perfectly. But everyone makes mistakes.”

Now, it will be Tawanchai’s turn to share the ring with Liu in the main event of the 2025 promotion’s final event.

Gym superstar PK Saenchai returns to kickboxing against Liu on December 19 at the fabulous Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.

Tawanchai promises top form against Liu Mengyang

Tawanchai has been out for quite some time, opting to nurse some nagging injuries from his loss to Masaaki Noiri.

With revenge on his mind, the 26-year-old Thai superstar ensures he’s on the better physical shape before his return.

The Muay Thai featherweight boss said in the same presser:

“My preparation has been very good, totaling almost three months. I am absolutely ready to fight at full capacity. After withdrawing from the previous match, I spent almost a month recovering. Now I am completely healed and 100% ready for battle.”
