Buster Olney by MLB recently shared his views San Diego Padres infierder Luis Arceerzwill take place in the free agency after the 2025 season. Arraez signed a $ 14 million contract with the parents in January.
Olney, a veteran sports journalist and ESPN basketball analyst tonight, and recently joined Marty Caswell in his podcast to talk about San Diego Padres. During the conversation, Caswell asked Olney about Luis Arraez's market prospects ahead of his imminent free agency.
Speaking of Arraez's value, Olney said:
•
“I think it has been shown. It does something better. I mean we have been talking about Tony (Gwynn) already in this podcast. It's like Tony and will hit line units and people will value it for it. But it is quite clear that the industry does not see it as an elite player”
“He would not have not been marketed twice during his career because the fact that he really does not have a position he stood out and really did not really have been so well. I think it is the type that everyone in the commercial term would like to have to connect a hole.”
Olney compared a comparison between Famer Gwynn's Famer Hall and Three Star Style of All-All-Star Luis Arraez. He also recalled a conversation with someone from the Yankees organization and speculated about Araraez's mating with Yankees captain Judge Aaron. In this note, he said:
“I remember having a conversation with someone in the Yankees before they signed Paul Goldschmidt. I was like the man who hooked Arraez in this line before the judge of Aaron or behind the judge or something and could hurt.
On Wednesday, the San Diego Padres wrapped their three -game series against the Oakland athletics with a narrow victory 2-1. The athletics reached the 1-0 lead in the second post, which the Padres tied to the third before moving forward in the fifth.
Luis Arraez fought on the plate, going 0 by 5 without blows, runners or RBI. So far in the 2025 season, Arraez is beating .283, with 15 times, five runs, a house and four RBI.
Prior to Wednesday's game, the Padres and Athletics had divided the first two games of the series. The Padres will return home to Petco Park to start a series against Colorado Rockies on Friday.
