Robert Kraft is taking over for head coach Jerod Mayo in the 2024 season.

The Patriots fired Mayo after the team's Week 18 win over the Buffalo Bills. New England finished 4-13 for the second straight season. It was Mayo's first and only season as a head coach and came after he became the middle linebackers coach.

Kraft spoke to reporters for the first time since the shooting Monday and said he put Mayo “in an impossible situation.” and that “all events are upon me.”
