Perth Glory will host Western Sydney Wanderers at HBF Park on Thursday in another round of the 2025-26 Australian A-League campaign The home side endured a difficult start to the season, failing to score in three of their first four games, but now appear to have turned a corner with impressive wins in their last two games.
They beat Macarthur 2-0 on the road last time out, with Nicholas Pennington coming off the bench to open the scoring midway through the second half before summer signing Charbel Shamoon put the game to bed with an effort two minutes from time.
Thanks for sending!
Similarly, Western Sydney Wanderers have enjoyed a promising return from the international break following a slow start to the season. At the weekend they beat rivals Sydney FC 1-0 in the Sydney derby, with Alou Kuol scoring the winner and finally opening his account for the club.
The visitors, who sit eighth in the table with eight points, are just one point above their opponents at midweek and will look to extend that gap with maximum points on Thursday.
The Glory have won back-to-back league games for the first time since January 2023 and will face their next challenge with confidence. However, they have only managed two wins at HBF Park in 2025 and will need to do their best to keep their run alive.
Wanderers are also on a winning streak after going winless in their previous five competitive matches. They have had the upper hand in this game lately and should have enough quality to get a point here.
prediction: Perth Glory 1-1 Western Sydney Wanderers
Tip 1 – Result: draw
Tip 2 – Goals – Over/under 2.5 – Under 2.5 goals
Tip 3: Both teams score: YES (Both teams have found the back of the net in four of their last five meetings)
