For Regan Smith, 2024 was an incredible year. After multiple impressive performances on the domestic circuit, including a world record in the 100 meters behind, he went to the Paris Olympic Games. The games won silver medals in the 100 meters and 200 m, as well as the butterfly of 200 m. He also moved away with gold medals at the events of 4x100m Medley and 4x100m Mixed Medley.

Reflecting on his Paris Olympic Games campaign, Smith told Forbes,

“I think from the Tokyo Olympic Games where there were no spectators on the cover, you could not share any time of success and celebration with the family or anything, I think it made Paris a really special experience.”

“I was really, really motivated to do really special things because I knew that after each event I had the opportunity to reveal -at that time with the members of my family, my friends, teammates and the world, because the stadium was also full, so special, so fun, but yes, absolutely not easy, sports competition is never easy, but I do so much to the fact that I came to share.”

Following his campaign from the Paris Olympic Games, Regan Smith continued to compete in the world championships of 2024 short films. Here he won the gold in the 50m of his return, 100m of his return, 200 m behind and 4x100m of Medley. He also won silver in the 200th 4x100m butterfly mixed, as well as a bronze medal in the 4x50m mixed medley.
