Rory McIlroy has recently made headlines for his comments about LIV Golf. During an interview, the Northern Irishman spoke about the Saudi-backed league and how it spends too much money on the golfers who compete on its circuit. McIlroy pointed out how golfers who play on the circuit are actually bound by contract, making them extremely expensive.
The Master's degree 2025 The winner explained how the circuit initially spent $5 billion to $6 billion on golfer contracts, and now that the season is over, the tour will have to spend the same amount again, which is not a good strategy. He stated,

“A lot of these guys' contracts are up. They're going to be asking for the same number or an even bigger number. LIV has spent $5 or $6 billion and they're going to have to spend five or six more just to stay where they are.”
Under the comments of this post, fans began to claim that Rory McIlroy had no idea what had happened to the LIFE Golf. Some fans even started pointing out that the Saudi-backed tour is a private company that doesn't care about money as long as they get a seat. Apart from that, Rory McIlroy he also discussed the merger of LIV Golf and the PGA Tour and how it should happen.

McIlroy recently sat on CNBC's CEO Council Forum, where he discussed the possibility of merging the two tours. There, he stated that as a golfer who has supported the professional pattern of the game, he wants the tour to work together for a better future for golf. He stated
“For golf … it would be better if there was unification … it's going to be very difficult … as someone who supports the PGA Tour and supports the traditional structure of men's professional golf, we have to realize that we were trying to deal with people who were acting somewhat irrationally, just in terms of the capital they were putting in and the money they were spending.”
During the interview, Rory McIlroy also stated that he is happy to stay with the PGA Tour, but you never know what happens in the golf business.
