Ross Chastain has opened his time with Daniel Suarez in the midst of the last departure of this latter by Trackhouse Racing. He recalled how they entered the team with “something to prove” and the milestones supported.
Early this week, It was announced that Suarez and Trackhouse Racing had accepted each other By the end of this season. It is believed that the Development Driver of the Team Connor Zilisch would sit in 2026.
The news comes after a long stretch of bad results for the Mexican pilot, while his teammate has been found regularly in the top 10. In particular, Suárez was the only driver of the team during its creation in 2021, followed by the debut of Chastain's # 1 entry in 2022.
Reflecting on his time as teammates, Chastain spoke to Frontsretch and said (1:35 onwards):
“I've been together for four years all the time … after he moved to the Concord building, he was the most similar person to the car I had a teammate.
When asked about his most appreciated memory together, Chastain replied:
“We both win, seeing their excitement for me in a height and then when he won in Sonoma … only seeing this full circle for both.”
Daniel Suarez's future prospects are still unknown but Rick Ware Racing has arisen as the highest choice to make it in its third potential entry Next season. It is also possible to change to JR Motorsports, so that the former XFinity series champion can regain its position in the low -level series. Its recent XFINITY victory in Mexico offers more support to this notion.
Daniel Suarez reveals the reason for rhythm with Ross Chastain
The results of Daniel Suarez this season have been evident compared to his teammate, Ross Chastain. 18 races in the season, Chastain stands in the top 10, while Suárez is on the shores of the first 30 places, with only one Top-5 result to show his efforts.
When Nascar's analyst, Bob Pockrarass, questioned the rhythm gap, Suarez replied (0:14):
“I have been very vocal with the team, we have to adjust it, we have to adjust it.” (…) I don't think it's the only reason, but I think lately, there have been things that made me feel like I'm not so important. “”
He also pointed out the recent inconsistency of Trackhouse Racing. The car showed pace during practice, but fought and fell during the main race.
After crashing in the first round of the challenge of the season, Daniel Suárez goes to Grant Park 160 with an initial position of 18, four points ahead of Chastain. Fans can see that the action unfolds to TNT Sports on Sunday, July 6 at 2pm.
