Serbia i Latvia bring theirs Qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup the campaign ended when they face each other at the Dubocica stadium on Sunday. Latvia, who have failed to win their last eight matches in all competitions, will look to end this dry spell and close their qualification journey on a high.
Serbia's dreams of World Cup qualification were dashed on Thursday when they slumped to a 2-0 defeat against England when the two nations met at Wembley Stadium.
This followed a 3-1 win over Andorra on 14 October, a result that ended Veljko Paunovic's side's two-match losing streak in the qualifiers.
Serbia head into the final match of Group K in third place with 10 points from their seven games, four points behind Albania in the playoff spot.
Meanwhile, Latvia are still struggling for results as they played out a goalless draw with North Macedonia in their friendly last Thursday.
Paolo Nicolato's men are now focused on World Cup qualifiers, where they are on a five-game winless streak (D4L) since a 1-0 win in Andorra in March's first group game.
Latvia have picked up five points from their seven qualifying games so far to sit fourth in the Group K table, just ahead of Andorra, who have picked up just one point so far.
With their qualification hopes already over, Serbia and Latvia will be playing for pride here as they look to close the campaign strongly.
Paunovic's men are still licking their wounds from their heartbreaking defeat against England in midweek, but we're backing them to secure the three points in front of their home fans.
prediction: Serbia 2-0 Latvia
Tip 1: Result: Serbia wins
Tip 2: Over 2.5 goals – No (There have been fewer than three goals scored in five of Latvia's last seven games)
Tip 3: Over 4.5 cards – No (there have also been under five bookings in eight of the visitors' last 10 games)
