Shannon Sharpe urges Browns owner Jimmy Haslam to weigh in on Shedeur Sanders bracelet controversy

Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders grabbed headlines for the wrong reasons after the rookie dealt with a wrist issue during the team’s 31-3 loss against the Chicago bones on sunday

The Browns include playcalls on players’ wristbands, and Sanders had some issues during the first quarter of Sunday’s game. Sanders had to run to the sideline to get a play call from Stefanski and fix his wristband in the second quarter.

ancient Denver Broncos Tight end Shannon Sharpe discussed the bracelet controversy on the “Nightcap” podcast with Chad Johnson, urging Browns owner Jimmy Haslam to demand answers.

“I’ve never heard of this before and I don’t know how it happened,” Sharpe said. “We don’t know why it happened, but if I’m Jimmy Haslam, Imma need some answers.

“I want to know how, for the first two drives, the wrong plays were on the sheet, and we had to grab our wristbands and make some adjustments. I need to know why. Mistakes happen, but not egregious in business.”

NFL reporter Allison Williams reported that Sanders had his wristband fixed at the start of the second quarter:

“Before that possession, when Shedeur was on the sideline, they took out the wristband with the play calls and made a change to one of the sheets and some tweaks.”

Browns HC Kevin Stefanski addressed the Shedeur Sanders bracelet controversy

After Sunday’s loss, Browns coach Kevin Stefanski was asked about the issue surrounding him Shedeur Sanders‘ bracelet during the first half. Stefanski said there was a “miscommunication.”

“There was some early miscommunication,” Stefanski said. “The bracelet got something on it or whatever…we fixed it pretty quickly.”

However, Browns rookie Shedeur Sanders had a different explanation for the incident.

“Oh no, the card just fell,” Sanders said. “It just fell by the wayside. That was it.”

Aside from the wrist issue, Sanders had an underwhelming game as the Browns rookie went 18-35 for 177 yards without a touchdown and three interceptions.
