The EFL Championship comes back with a new set of accessories com Sheffield United play host Portsmouth at Bramall Lane on Wednesday. The Blades have won each of their last three home games against Portsmouth and will be aiming to extend that impressive run.
Sheffield United produced an impressive team display on Sunday as they cruised to a 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday in the Steel City derby at Hillsborough Stadium.
Thanks for sending!
Before that, the Blades were on a four-game winless streak in the league, losing three and drawing one in all four games.
Sheffield United have picked up just 13 points from their 16 Championship games so far to sit 22nd in the league table, one point behind 21st-placed Oxford United.
Like the home side, Portsmouth got a morale-boosting result last weekend when they secured a 3-1 win over 10-man Millwall at Fratton Park.
John Mousinho's men had not won their previous six league games, losing four and drawing two, while conceding 11 goals and scoring four since October 18.
Portsmouth have collected 17 points from their 16 Championship games so far to sit 19th in the table, level on points with 20th-placed Swansea City.
Buoyed by their win at the weekend, Sheffield United and Portsmouth will go into Wednesday's tie high on confidence as they look to put together a good run of form. However, Mousinho's men have struggled to prevail on the road and we are keen for the Blades to come away with the three points.
prediction: Sheffield United 2-0 Portsmouth
Tip 1: Result – Sheffield United to win
Tip 2: Over 2.5 goals – No (There have been fewer than three goals scored in five of their last seven meetings between the two teams)
