St. Polten Women and Chelsea Women will exchange tackles in a UEFA Women's Champions League clash on Tuesday (November 11). The game will be played at the NV Arena.
The home side come into the clash on the back of a 2-0 regular season win over Sturm Graz in the OFB-Frauenliga. Leila Peneau broke the deadlock in the 44th minute, while Kess Elmore doubled their lead with 14 minutes remaining.
Chelsea, meanwhile, shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw against Arsenal Women's Super League during the weekend. Alyssa Thompson put them ahead at the break with her ninth-minute strike, but Alessio Russo equalized in the 87th minute.
The Blues will turn their attention to the continent, where their last game saw them thrash Paris FC 4-0 at home. The St. Polten lost 3-0 to Lyon.
The defeat left the Austrians bottom of the standings with zero points from two matches. Chelsea is sixth with four points.
St. Polten has struggled in the UWCL this season, losing both games by a combined 9-0. Another tough game awaits them against the English champions.
Chelsea have made a strong start in their quest for a maiden continental crown. They are overwhelming favorites to claim victory here, but will be wary of a slip-up as they failed to win their opener in Twente despite being heavy favorites there too.
Barring an unlikely upset, there should only be one winner here. We're backing the visitors to claim a comfortable win and clean sheet.
prediction: St. Polten Women 0-4 Chelsea Women
Tip 1 – Chelsea Women to win
Tip 2: Both teams score: No
Tip 3: Over 2.5 goals
Tip 4 – Chelsea to win both halves
