Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone plays Miami while preparing to defend the Grand Slam track title


Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone has officially landed in Miami for the second meeting of the Grand Slam track. The North -American was crowned “Slam champion” at the opening meeting of the league last month and will be eager to defend its title.

In 2024, McLaughlin-Levrone was the first athlete to sign with GST when Michael Johnson announced the launch of the competition. The fans were excited to see that the 24-year-old would join the League, as he meant that they would have the opportunity to see her regularly compete outside of important events such as the United States national rehearsals, world championships and Olympic Games.

Now, as he is heading to compete in Grand Slam Track Miami, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone He has recently arrived in southern Florida. The competition is scheduled for May 2 and 4 at the Ansin de Miramar sports complex.

In the GST Miami edition, McLaughlin-Levrone will compete in the Long Hurdles Event Group, which includes 400 MI's obstacles 400 m races. To join -as “runners” on the court will be Shamier Little, Jasmine Jones and Rushell Clayton.

At the debut meeting of the Grand Slam Track At Kingston last month, Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone competed in the Long Hurdles Event Group. At the 400 m obstacle event, the North -Americans scored 52,76s, placing it almost two seconds ahead of the entire field. On the 400 -meter floor, the Olympic champion ran 50.32, ending again two seconds ahead of its competitors.

After dominating the field in Kingston, McLaughlin-Levrone revealed that I was thinking of changing events for the second half of the Grand Slam Track League, telling NBC:

“We have definitely talked about doing the (long sprints) in. Maybe even the 100 obstacles, 100 in Philly. We'll see what happens.”

The fans will be excited about Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone to explore new events, as he would show his versatility on the court. If the head of the world record opts for the Long Sprints Event Group, he should climb against the Olympic champion of 200 million Gabby Thomas and the 400m Marileid Paulino Olympic champion in his specialized events. In the same way, if he competed in the short obstacle event, he would be launched against the Olympic Champion of Obstacles of 100 meters, Masai Russell.
