Sympathetic presentation, nostalgic but not inspired (Switch 2)

When I first saw Tamagotchi Plaza, I was excited; A Tamagotchi game where I don't have to carry one of these small digital devices that call me? A dream come true, that. When he was the 80's and 90's, he had a Tamagotchi in high school, when they really were blowing. I was so excited to have limited gold. Even as an adult, I have a pair of Tamagotchi by Kamen Rider, although I have not been able to bring them to open them.

The creatures are cute, the visuals are bright and colorful, but unfortunately it is where my joy ends with Tamagotchi square Nintendo Switch 2. It has a lot of charm, a lot of family tamagotchis and a decent value for the price point, but it will not be for everyone.

Tamagotchi Plaza plays well at Nintendo Switch 2 but this is

Now, I understand that I am not in the demographic destination of Tamagotchi Plaza. It is a game for children, marketed in children. However, I really do not know many children who would be excited about the mini -games without mood, over and over. When I realized that this would not be a pet breeder, my next hope was that it was a welcoming game, such as Stardew Valley, or something of his.

In this way, you could work together with the various creatures and grow your city and see results. Make digital friends, work together and celebrate the successes. Unfortunately, there is not much in the last title of Bandai Namco about virtual creatures of shouts.

In the story of Tamagotchi Plaza, the player controls a child who is taken from the Earth, on the Tamagotchi planet. Now, I can see that the kids are excited. Who, as a child, did not dream of being stored in one of his favorite fiction parameters?

Here they basically do tasks in various shops in the city to earn money and help prepare for a great festival. The real goal is to convince King Tamagotchi to have the great festival in the city of Tamahiko. Choose reputation and money by mini-games, and that's almost. With this, you can update the shops and the city itself, but it can feel like a task that takes a long time.

You will choose one of the Tamagotchi to work initially next to it, but you can go out whenever you want and go elsewhere. There are several types of different shops, each with its own mini-game. It cost me an attempt or two to find out exactly what I wanted to do, because they do not explain well at Tamagotchi Plaza. However, a positive is that there is more mini-games than in the original version of the switch and they have mouse controls.

There are not many things to see or do in the city of Tamahiko

Now, I get it; If this game was to climb and take care of Tamagotchi, they would probably sell less of the real devices. You could only have one on your switch 2 and be careful. But only doing mini-games, with almost no purpose in sight? It is a miserable experience. At least at Mario's party, you have a general goal to ruin all your friendships as quickly as possible.

What if you get a mini-game in Tamagotchi Plaza? Receive some money. What if you fail? Receive the The same amount of money. Finally, sufficient success does it mean you can start updating this store, but is it worth the effort? Absolutely not.

This process feels tedious, because it is not clear how many successes you need to start the update process, and then you have to wait for the prince to show, make it happy and finally have enough coins to update. Although I will say that it is hilarious to see the small tamagotchi moody, even when you do the same amount of cash in any way.

Apart from the Tamahiko Town store update, there is generally not much. This is one of the main problems: Mini-games are really really fast repetitive and progress is not feeling well. I imagine some children will love, but as a fan of my youth, it is not.

The best part of Tamagotchi Plaza is visual design

Although Tamagotchi Plaza's game is shallow and not inspired, I can't say the same about visual presentation. The 100 Tamagotchi are incredible, and the game has bright and bright visuals that fit perfectly with the aesthetics of the franchise. It is loaded smoothly in the Nintendo Switch 2, and the different chirps and thick of the creatures also meet.

This was my favorite part of the game; Just stroll through the small town of Tamahiko and bring it. Exchanging -some of the other tamagotchis and strolling around the vault was a little nice, frankly. If there is somewhere that this game nailed it, it was its appearance.

Final thoughts

Each mini-game has its own charm, but they do not have much reproduction value (image using Bandai Namco)Each mini-game has its own charm, but they do not have much reproduction value (image using Bandai Namco)

I wanted very badly that I liked Tamagotchi Plaza, I really did. I was really excited to enter, eager to make friends, complete the strange mini-game and, perhaps, build a village, or something. This was not what I received at all. He would have had more temperate expectations if he had played some of Tamagotchi's oldest games, maybe.

The premise is not even terrible. It is simply incredibly repetitive and tedious. I liked all the jobs, except perhaps the optometrist, but no matter how much I liked a mini-game at first, it decreased after making them a dozen more or less.

It is a simple and sympathetic game and, if you are looking for nothing complex, there is something that you like in the game. The whole game works and works well. The only real complaint about the game itself that mini-games could have used better explanations. I was waiting for Hello Kitty Island Adventure or something, but this is definitely what I received. This game is fine, but I think only hardcore fans will enjoy it.
