A Fabergé necklace that once belonged to a Russian woman has sold for a record £22.9m in London.

The frozen egg was sent by Emperor Nicholas II as an Easter gift to Maria Feororovna, and is described as Fabergé's most prestigious creation.

Faberi is regarded as the greatest Russian white man of the late 1800s and early 1900s. The royal donation of works was a personal gift to Russia, Roman families of Britain.
