The former WWE champion claims it would be a “career-defining moment” to retire John Cena


A former WWE champion shared that it would be a career-defining moment to fight John Cena in his retirement match next month. The promotion is holding the “Last Time is Now” tournament to determine the 48-year-old's final opponent in the main event on Saturday night, December 13.

Rusev and Damian Priest will face off tonight in the first round of the tournament. The Bulgarian brute he claimed John Cena ruined his life by defeating him at WrestleMania 31 in a video today.

Prior to WWE RAW, Priest shared that it would be a career-defining moment to be John Cena's final opponent in WWE. The former World Heavyweight Champion noted that everyone remembers Cena's debut, so they will probably remember his last match as well.

“To me personally, it would mean the world. It's a career-defining moment. You know, you remember his first (match), right? When he came out with the Kurt Angle thing. How can you not remember his last one? So there's a reason there's a tournament for that privilege,” Priest said.

Sheamus and Shinsuke Nakamura will also face off in the first round of the “Last Time is Now” tournament tonight. WWE RAW. Stephanie Vaquer will defend the Women's World Championship against Raquel Rodriguez, and Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair will put the Women's Tag Team Championships on the line against The Kabuki Warriors tonight also on RAW.

John Cena Mr. wants to see his son face two former WWE stars

John Cena Mr. recently stated that he wanted to see his son wrestle two former WWE stars during his retirement tour.

In an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling, John Cena Sr. noted that he would love to see his son have the opportunity to fight Chris Jericho and Edge (Adam Copeland) once more before retiring from the in-ring competition.

“I mean, I'd love to see Adam Copeland in there with John. That would be a great finish. Jericho's another guy that you might think could be in there with Cena, but the way it goes, take the coin and flip it in the air and see which football team gets the ball first. Yeah.” said Cena Sr.
