The NHL analyst makes a strong case for Don Cherry, the induction of the Barry Melrose Hockey Hockey Hall

NHL analyst John Buccigross made a convincing case to induce Don cherry and Barry Melrose In the Hockey Fame Room.

Buccigross argued that both Cherry and Melrose have brought enormous contributions to hockey for decades and deserve recognition while still alive to appreciate the honor.

Ax wrote John Buccigross,

“Why do Hall of Hunger wait until people die? Why do they adhere to arbitrary categorical rules that really mean nothing and can be changed with less than 12 words?

“The Hunger/Museum Hall simply tell a story and the ceremonies give someone the opportunity to feel the love of family and friends and worship strangers. Otherwise, these buildings are meaningless.”

At the age of 91, Don Cherry is remembered for his daring personality and decades of burning comments. Although he only played a single NHL game with the BruiseHe made his mark behind the bench, guiding Boston in two final appearances of the Stanley Cup during a strong coaching career.

Melrose, 68, had a career of 13 years before he got to fame as coach of the kings of Los Angeles. Melrose guided an unlikely team of kings to lead Wayne Gretzky In the 1993 Stanley Cup finals. It later became an ESPN and NHL analyst of the NHL until 2023. He was recently diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.

“Time is limited for both. Cherry is 91 and Barry has Parkinson. How easy is that? What do we do?” Buccigross added.

Buccigross implored the Fama Show Selection Committee so as not to delay and wait until it was too late to pay tribute to two charismatic figures exclusively who gave their lives to grow the game in a national scenario through the media.

“The history of hockey cannot be told without the 30 years that Don Cherry and Barry Melrose gave the game through national television. They both gave the hockey all their lives and NHL.”

Despite not having the traditional game summary, its indispensable contributions justify the induction rather than late according to Buccigross.
