Top Name Says WWE Champion 'Given Advantages'

A popular WWE star recently made some shocking accusations against Cody Rhodes during his match against Drew McIntyre in Saturday Night's Main Event. The name in question is Wade Barrett.

Going into Saturday night's main event, Drew McIntyre had claimed several times in his promos that Cody Rhodes had been given unfair advantages by company management, particularly in their previous match at Wrestlepalooza 2025, where the referee surprisingly prevented McIntyre from hitting Rhodes with a Claymore and slamming Rhodes' head into the side of the announcer's desk. This helped The American Nightmare out of the risky situation, and The Scottish Warrior ended up getting hurt. The match ended in favor of Rhodes.

During their matchup in the main event on Saturday night, commentator Wade Barrett told Michael Cole that he was friends with both Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre. However, he said he agreed with McIntyre's claims and believed management had given Rhodes advantages at times.

“Look, and I'll tell you right now, I'm friends with both of those guys. But there are elements of truth in what McIntyre says. Cody has been given advantages at times by management that Drew was never given,” Wade Barrett said.

On the October 17 edition of WWE SmackDown, Cody Rhodes was disqualified by hitting Drew McIntyre with the title. A new stipulation was added to their match for SNME. If Rhodes had gotten the disqualification this time, he would have ended up losing the title.

Despite this stipulation, The American Nightmare once again “cheated” his way to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship when he hit his opponent with a DDT on the title while the referee was knocked out. He then hit the Cross Rhodes to win the match by pinfall and retain the gold.
