Saint Truiden and Club Bruges will fight for three points in a Belgian Jupiler Pro League Round of 16 clash on Saturday (December 6). The match will be played at Daio Wasabi Stayen.
The hosts come into the match after a penalty shootout defeat Royal Antwerp in the Belgian Cup. They twice came from behind in the first half with goals from Keisuke Goto and Robert-Jan Vanwesemael, after goals from Gurano Kerk and Christopher Scott.
Thanks for sending!
Kerk restored Antwerp's lead after the hour, but Yuto Tsunashima's own goal leveled the game again. A goalless extra time was followed by a 4-3 penalty shootout victory for the home side.
Club Brugge, meanwhile, advanced with a 2-1 home win over Leuven. They went into the break on the scoreboard thanks to Hugo Vetlesen's strike in the 33rd minute. Sory Kaba equalized at half-time, but Christos Tzolis scored the goal of the game in the 83rd minute.
The Blue-Black they will turn their attention to the league, where their last game saw them lose 1-0 at home to Antwerp. St. Truiden earned a 2-1 away win over Gent.
The victory moved them to fourth place in the standings, having collected 30 points from 16 games. Club Brugge is second with 32 points.
St. Truiden are on a good run of form, having won their last four league games on the bounce.
Club Brugge, meanwhile, have blown hot and cold, having won just two of their last six games in all competitions (three defeats).
We expect the visitors to claim a tight win with goals at both ends.
prediction: St. Truiden 1-2 Club Brugge
Tip 1 – Club Brugge to win
Tip 2: Both teams score
Tip 3: Over 2.5 goals
