Popular VTuber Zentreya went viral on social media after featuring a model who appeared to be dressed in a military uniform. On November 27, 2025, the content creator officially revealed the “General Zentreya” model. While many fans were happy to see Zentreya's updated model, some were unhappy, with X user @daitan_kodi claiming it was “problematic” because the streamer's costume gave off a “N*zi vibe.”
“Problematic for more than one small detail, but for some of the whole thing. The Nazi vibe, Esdeath is similar to Sigil on the hat, too similar to the red, white and black color choice of the Reich eagle, like the one the 3rd Reich had, inspired by Rome X's brown shirt minions” User X @daitan_kodi posted.
Zentreya he finally responded to those who called him “N*zi” during a live stream, stating that he had “no political side”.
She elaborated:
“I also want to be clear, I'm not on any political side. I don't agree with N*zism. I'll definitely say I'm against it. It's ugly. It's crazy to talk about… call me N*zi. It's crazy to call my community N*zis. It's really not… that blows my mind. That's crazy! I think I have to say that.”
On November 29, 2025, the VTuber issued another statement in response to the controversy while commenting on user X's now-deleted post X @CuppyCakiee:
“I don't think wanting to be labeled a N*zi right out of the gate would warm anyone up. I've already apologized for how I spoke the other day today. But to jump on board the hate train without even stopping and questioning it shows who you really are.”
Tim Zheng, founder of Vite Kitchens and Vite Ramen, and VTuber sponsor, has spoken out about the controversy. While he claimed he “hadn't received a single DM” about the recent incident involving Zentreya's new model, Zheng explained why he was “furious” about the situation:
“This is important, because I've been through a lot over the last 9 years, from people who deserved to lose all their sponsorships to people who were misunderstood. If people really and genuinely think something is wrong, I can tell you that I know instantly and I get flooded with messages. However, I didn't know about it until someone mentioned it right away and I didn't mention it right away. Go find out what was going on And this smacks of stalking someone else because it makes them feel older.
Tim Zheng added:
“Of all the wrongs in this world, why do people choose to attack Zentreya, who has done so much for so many people? For a drop of influence? For an ounce of attention? Why do people want to hurt and try to defeat others? Come on. Do better. Be nicer.”
Zentreya released an update to X on November 30, 2025writing, “This is so stupid 🫩,” amid the controversy.
